Meaning it's just a matter of time until I can sort through the mental layers to recover that misplaced password--even after all these years. Then I'll be back in business. Thanks for stopping to comment.Magnaverdehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04231057342527140091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694563163726770793.post-38299651573899039592013-08-30T07:39:05.055-05:002013-08-30T07:39:05.055-05:00Darn! Unfortunately, I only spent thirty seconds on the site--it was, after all, just a placeholder--and, I'm sorry to say, my haste shows. What's worse is that because I've lost the password, I can't get in to fix it. There's nothing like undercutting your own claim of good taste with a tacky blog. At least it doesn't have a bunch of flying toasters & Dancing Jesus avatars like Homer Simpson's first blog.

Anyway, now all I have to do is remember the password, then come up with some content that you and the rest of the heavy hitters haven't already done--better. Maybe I'll just stick to commenting for a while.Magnaverdehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04231057342527140091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694563163726770793.post-82048116990908043432013-08-26T09:56:04.516-05:002013-08-26T09:56:04.516-05:00No need for tears, Meg. The last time I remember crying was the sunlit funeral scene in Barry Lyndon, and, these days, when that movie comes around to a theater in revival, I know to run out to the lobby for a refill of Pepsi as soon as that kid gets on the pony. This news wasn't nearly that bad, although with that soundtrack in the background, it could have been.

At any rate, should your friends ever decide to open up an actual branch location in Chicago, well they know where to find me. I think it would be fun, and the fact that they're friends of yours is its own recommendation. Besides, the upshot if it all is that I can go back to my old name.Magnaverdehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04231057342527140091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694563163726770793.post-9725545208594029072013-08-26T09:27:21.942-05:002013-08-26T09:27:21.942-05:00HBD, you made the first comment on my very first g...HBD, you made the first comment on my very first guest post on somebody else's blog--EEE's, where I talked about Rue Carpenter--http://emilyevanseerdmans.blogspot.com/2009/07/magnaverde-unveils-rue-winterbotham.html--four years ago and I won't ever forget it, so having you drop into the shop unexpectedly would have been great.

Well, the surprise factor is now moot, but if you still have room on your dance card, and could transpose a site visit into, say, a meeting over a cocktail--or coffee, or lunch--while you're in town, my own schedule is (obviously) pretty much of a blank slate this week, so let me know.

Either way, the show at the AIC is great, and I say that as someone who cares next-to-nothing about fashion. Have a great trip, and try to stay cool. It's supposed to be hotter than hell.
